Important collections are more than inventories of bottles. They reflect years of curiosity, knowledge and personal choices. The Collections Registry was created to document these collections with the care, context and permanence they deserve.

Why we built it

Preserving the identity of a collection.

A collection tells a story that can be lost when its bottles are considered only as individual objects. We bring together the people, provenance, knowledge and details that make each collection distinct.

Our aim is to create a thoughtful record for collectors, researchers and future custodians—whether a collection remains private, is shared with a wider audience or eventually begins a new chapter.

Jens Fischer

Jens is a mechanical engineer by training and has been a passionate whisky enthusiast since around 2000. Over the years, his interest has expanded to fine and rare spirits in all their diversity. As the driving force behind the Collections Registry, he developed the concept together with Sebastian Renner around a shared belief: collections built with passion over decades deserve to be preserved as more than just individual bottles. Whether a collector eventually decides to pass on a collection or it is left to the next generation, the Registry documents and preserves it as a whole — keeping its story, character and legacy alive.

Sebastian Renner

Sebastian is a true spirits enthusiast with an exceptional eye for rare and historic bottles. Put an old Cognac, whisky or rum in his hands, and he can often tell within moments whether it is an authentic bottling or something that deserves a closer look. But his expertise goes far beyond authentication. Behind almost every bottle, Sebastian knows a story — about its origin, its time and the people behind it. As a collector himself, he understands better than most what a collection can mean to the person who has spent decades building it.

Stefan comes from a professional background in IT, but his passion has long extended far beyond technology. A dedicated spirits enthusiast and collector, he has developed a particular fascination for rare rum, Cognac and whisky. What began as an interest has grown into a genuine passion for discovering exceptional bottles, their history and the stories behind them.

André has been passionate about fine spirits for more than two decades. As a dedicated collector, he has built up extensive knowledge and a deep appreciation for rare and exceptional bottlings. His long-standing experience as a collector gives him a keen understanding of what makes a collection special — far beyond the value of the individual bottles.
