Velier Demerara Selections
The Velier Demerara Selections are among the most celebrated releases in modern rum history. The series originated from Luca Gargano’s privileged access to the warehouses of Demerara Distillers Limited in Guyana, where he selected exceptional casks representing historic distilleries, production marques and legendary stills.
The bottlings preserve the identities of names such as Port Mourant, Enmore, Skeldon, Albion, Uitvlugt, Blairmont and Diamond. Many were matured entirely in Guyana’s tropical climate and released at full or high proof, often in extremely limited quantities. Later expressions also explored historic marques through carefully composed “Blended in the Barrel” releases.
More than a collection of rare vintages, the Velier Demerara Selections form a liquid archive of Guyanese rum production. Their uncompromising presentation, remarkable provenance and connection to distilleries that have long since disappeared have made them benchmarks for enthusiasts and some of the most sought-after Demerara rums ever bottled.
